Annabel was admitted as a barrister in the UK in 1996 (Inner Temple, London). Since that time she has worked almost exclusively in serious criminal work. She practised as a barrister sole in London from 1996-2009 at 9-12 Bell Yard Chambers (www.9-12by.com). During that time she was instructed as both defence and prosecution counsel on a full range of criminal work including murders, serious violence, drug offences, fraud allegations, adult and child sex offences, robberies and other serious crime. She also was involved in confiscation proceedings and civil restraint proceedings acting for Customs, the Police and the defence.
Annabel moved to New Zealand in 2009 and began working in Manukau as a senior lawyer for the Public Defence Service in 2010. There she worked on a large caseload of serious crime including manslaughter, methamphetamine production, importation and supply, cocaine importation, fraud, rape and child abuse plus other criminal offences.
She moved into private practise with Maria in May 2013. She has undertaken a number of trials since that time including arson, cocaine dealing, historic sexual abuse and electoral fraud.
In the last two years, Annabel has appeared as lead Counsel in a number of large scale drug operations at both the High Court and District Court.
